Introduction to PROMARINE®-640
PROMARINE®-640
is a lightweight non-combustible board manufactured
from autoclaved calcium silicate, reinforced with
selected minerals and fibres. The boards contain no
asbestos or other mineral fibres. No special
precautions are necessary when working with the
panels. HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is suitable
for bonding to PROMARINE®-450
using a number of adhesives.
PROMARINE®-640
composite panels can be processed simply by using
normal joinery tools when sawing, planing, drilling
etc. When using power equipment, such as electric
saws, dust extraction should be used to reduce the
airborne nuisance dust generated.
When making cut-outs in laminated
PROMARINE®-640
composite panels it is important to radius the
corners to prevent laminate splitting.
PROMARINE®-640
is suitable for lamination of high pressure
laminates using a variety of adhesives. Both cold
and hot press methods of lamination can be employed.
Type of glue to be used when bonding laminates to
PROMARINE®-640
will be determined by the adhesive specified in the
laminate manufacturer's certificate of approval from the appropriate classification body.
Pre-bonded
PROMARINE®-640
composite panels should not be stored or used in
conditions where the relative humidity (RH)
falls below 35% or above 85%, and where the maximum
temperature is above 35°.
